Want a 琀椀ghter lambing period?
Teasers are very useful in 昀氀ocks to 琀椀ghten the lambing period and/or encourage
ewes to come into season a week or two earlier than normal. This may suit farmers that would prefer to have the majority of lambs born within a short period of
琀椀me when help is available. It may also mean a more uniform crop of lambs for
selling. A vasectomy needs to performed at least 6 weeks prior to use. It is advisable to use a homebred shearling ram/ram lamb with known disease status.
Sponges can also be used to synchronise and bring the lambing period forward
in groups or 昀氀ocks of ewes. Please bare in mind a higher ram/ewe ra琀椀o might be
required when using a teaser ram and/or synchronising using Sponges.
