The period in between weaning and tupping is the best opportunity to detect
the presence of iceberg diseases in your 昀氀ock. Cull ewes and those failing to
gain BCS over 4-6 weeks post weaning are the ones most likely to be infected,
so they should be the ones targeted with blood sampling.
Don’t let them leave the farm without having them checked!
The Animal Health and Welfare Pathway funding can be used to support this
tes琀椀ng.
Blood samples can be taken from 12 ewes on farm, (or in the trailer at some
branches)
