NOTE FROM YOUR EDITOR...
Welcome to our Summer magazine. We con琀椀nue our theme of preven琀椀on
and sustainability in many of these ar琀椀cles. We hope you will 昀椀nd something
of interest and poten琀椀ally spark a conversa琀椀on next 琀椀me we see you. As
veterinary surgeons we will always get pleasure from solving a clinical problem or using our knowledge to put something right. However, we increasingly also get great sa琀椀sfac琀椀on reducing the need for interven琀椀ons through
working with the whole farm team to ensure everyone works together to
contribute to the success of your farm.
We are frequently being challenged to work with our clients to reduce the
need for an琀椀bio琀椀cs, anthelmin琀椀c and pes琀椀cides. The mantra of as much as
necessary , as li琀琀le as possible is a common message we use. A few years
ago many people could not imagine a year were rou琀椀ne worming was something you didn’t need to do. It was expensive and 琀椀me consuming but it was
done because it felt like the right thing to do. Now we are all on a journey.
A journey where we aspire to use our knowledge to work with the environment to create a win win win. A win for the livestock we care for, a win for
our farming community and a win for the future of sustainable environment.
Together we can achieve so much more.
We will be at many of the local shows this summer please do take the
opportunity to come and see us.
We look forward to seeing you there, in the mean 琀椀me if you want to
discuss any of the points raised please do get in touch.
