Trouw Sustainability Event
Some of you may have already seen that Torch vet Emily Linton and Torch
client Michelle Ley spoke at the Trouw Nutri琀椀on sustainability event last
month. They shared their story of how Torch and Hoops Holstein have
worked together to improve youngstock rearing on the farm and reduce
age at 昀椀rst calving (AFC). This reduc琀椀on in AFC has signi昀椀cantly contributed to the farms 14% reduc琀椀on in their carbon footprint since 2019.
And with AHDB 昀椀gures sugges琀椀ng each day delay beyond 24 months
AFC costs you £2.87, it shows that o昀琀en what’s good for the planet is
good for your bo琀琀om line too.
